About

Group Pozitiv was formed in 1996 in Ivan Cankar student’s home. Since the year 2000 the group Pozitiv is also organized as non-governmental organization (NGO). The group deals mainly with projects on fields of (sub)culture, contemporary art and different performance arts: theatre, dance, video, digital and multimedia art. Since the beginning till today, the group has created many productions, which have achieved many awards and recognitions in Slovenia and abroad. Besides the authorial productions, the group and NGO Pozitv also act as developers and organizers of bigger and more complex youth exchange projects and projects from the field of culture and art. Special expertise field of the group, in which operate number of mentors and experts of contemporary scene and visual arts, is working with youth (sub)culture and organization of different workshops for young people.

The mission

• Cultural and art activities (video, dance and theatre, Internet, digital art).
• (Sub-)culture and youth cultural activities (supporting young artist and groups, organisation of international exchanges - culture and art, etc.).
• Organisation of workshops for young people in the field of culture and art (video, theatre, dance, and other visual art forms).

Activities

• Promoting support for young artists and groups, allowing them to create and produce different varieties of contemporary visual, modern and sub-cultural art productions.
• Organising international exchanges and cultural collaborations (productions and co-productions).

Structure organisation

• Officially in NGO KUD Pozitiv there is no-one employed. The head of the organisation is employed in an educational institution which is occupied with young people, and based on schooling young people in the field of art (“learning by doing and long life learning program”).
• Mentors actively collaborate in the realisation of these projects. As recognition for their service, they receive, together with the organisation, logistic support for realisation of their own projects. They realise their projects within the KUD Pozitiv organisation.
• KUD Pozitiv has, apart from a ˝president˝ and his assistant, 50% part-time and 50% volunteer workers, as well as a book-keeper and a secretary.
• Leaders of individual creative activities and productions within the company (theatre, dance, video, digital and web art) are different artists, cultural workers and mentors of the organization.
