About
the Project
This
year the project Petrovaradin Tribe is also taking place in connection with
the Exit festival. It is a specific video workshop whose main purpose is to
sociologically research the phenomenon of the biggest music festival in this
part of south-eastern Europe. However, the music aspect of the festival is
not the focus of attention – the research is focused on the events around
Exit and especially on the motives and reasons for gathering of the young
from the once common state.
Question
What
are the motives of the young generation that was growing up during the period
of the decay of the former common state, that is, during the time when historical
facts started disappearing from schoolbooks and the media described the state
and its history mainly as a prison and a place of entrapment and repression?
Methodology
of Research
Multiple
layers of the phenomenon are going to be researched by means of video and
a parallel theoretical discussion which represents the basis for the script
of the documentary about the events at, and especially ‘alongside’ the festival.
One of the objectives of the documentary is a portrait of the previously mentioned
young generation from the ‘neighbourhood’.
